The Cornerstone Youth Development Fund, or CYDF, was founded by Mike Donoughe and his daughter, Kelly Donoughe. It was created because of the inspiration of Fr. Gene Hattie, Patrick Donoughe, and Betty Donoughe. Fr. Gene Hattie is a Jesuit priest who has dedicated his life to work for the improvement of the lives of orphans in Uganda . During his time there, he kept in contact with Pat and Betty, who always spoke fondly of Fr. Hattie and his work. The idea to start a non-profit to help underprivileged youth came from the passion, faith, and dedication of these wonderful individuals.

Our objectives are to provide resources to support activities focused on properly preparing youth to lead productive lives for the benefit of society. We work both domestically and internationally. Domestically, our areas of focus are thus far in Detroit , Michigan . Internationally, we have worked primarily in Eastern Africa.
